ROCK Action and Global Trekker, channels owned and operated by Rock Entertainment Holdings, launched on the basic cable tier across all the major operators in Taiwan earlier this month. While both channels were previously offered only in premium cable packages in the market, now ROCK Action and Global Trekker are available to more than 6 million homes in Taiwan each as part of the basic cable service. The two channels successfully launched on major cable operators including KBRO, CNS, TBC, and Top, along with several additional operators, on top of their existing presence on platforms like Hami Video, 4gTV and GtTV.
Notably, ROCK Action made its debut this month on the Chunghwa Telecom MOD IPTV platform, securing channel 617—formerly held by Star Movies HD, which exited the market at the end of 2023. Global Trekker already launched on MOD in 2023.
“The expansion marks a significant milestone for us, and we are excited to bring ROCK Action and Global Trekker to wider audiences in Taiwan,” said Beatrice Lee, Rock Entertainment’s CEO. “The overwhelming success and positive reception of ROCK Action and Global Trekker in Asia has definitely inspired us to continue delivering premium content to our viewers.”
ROCK Action is a 24/7 action movie channel that has been well-received in Asia, seeing a steady increase in viewership since its launch in late 2022. ROCK Action audiences can catch Hollywood blockbusters and fan-favourite action films, including Snow White and The Huntsman starring Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, the latest Charlie’s Angels featuring Kristen Stewart, the adrenaline-pumping Fast & Furious franchise led by Vin Diesel, Matt Damon’s iconic Bourne series, Zombieland starring recent Golden Globe winner Emma Stone and many more.
