KC Global Media, the leading entertainment network in Asia, unveiled its first script development of a sci-fi live action series, Jonesy, with support from the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA)’s Capability Partnership Programme (CPP). Completing its first script development, Jonesy, is a highly appraised sci-fi fantasy thriller action-comedy series set in the year 2029 (8 episodes of 15-20 minutes per episode) with award-winning Singapore-based production agency, Monochromatic Pictures. The collaboration between KC Global Media and Monochromatic Pictures, with IMDA’s support, seeks to champion and showcase Asian originals on the world stage.

Jonesy, is set in the year 2029, where violent weather systems descend upon the global population, carrying within them supernatural beasts that devour humankind. Surviving the culling of humanity, internet crazy Gen-Zér and shut-in, Jonesy Lee, is forced to live in an abandoned hardware shop, as he retreats into his digitally warped mind, dreading the future and the haze beasts outside. With his imaginary friend, Dynamite, Jonesy learns to navigate the new world alone, confront his fears, battle colourful foes, and become humanity’s new hope when he kills one of the monsters during a livestream.
