Encounter, this year-end’s highly-anticipated blockbuster drama series, premiered to stellar viewership ratings and looks set to rule the drama charts as ratings stay at a high, impressing viewers with scenic views and captivating storyline.

Featuring two powerhouses as the main leads – Park Bo Gum and Song Hye Kyo – the debut episode broke tvN’s viewership ratings record for a Wednesday-Thursday drama premiere and continues to be a leading drama in its timeslot across free-to-air and cable TV channels.

The debut episode recorded an impressive viewership rating of 8.7 per cent, surpassing the 6.3 per cent rating of hit K-drama Goblin’s premiere. Encounter has also claimed the top spot in its timeslot last week, outperforming SBS’ An Empress’s Dignity and MBC’s Children of Nobody, with viewership ratings of 7.6 per cent and 3.9 percent respectively. Encounter also holds the second highest premiere viewership rating among tvN’s dramas.
