MIPCOM – FremantleMedia has secured a deal with Denmark’s biggest public broadcaster DR for The Recording Studio. The heart-warming fact ent format was created by Boundless (part of FremantleMedia UK), the eight-part series will be produced by FremantleMedia’s Danish production arm Blu, for DR’s flagship channel DR1.
The Recording Studio follows ordinary people as they are given the opportunity of a lifetime to step into a world-class recording studio and capture the most important song of their lives. The format recently got a BBC One pilot commission.
With a transformative narrative, viewers will be able to watch as the studio’s highly skilled producers and team of talented musicians help each participant to share their own unique story of a deeply personal, funny or uplifting memory using music to tell their tale.

DR’s state-of-the-art studios, symphony orchestra, concert hall and choirs will allow us to bring these performances to life in an incredible way.” FremantleMedia hold the global format rights for The Recording Studio and will launch it at MIPCOM 2017.
