RioContentMarket 2017 has confirmed four more outstanding keynote speakers for the event, which will take place from 8 to 10 of March 2017, in Rio de Janeiro. Marie Jacobson, Executive Vice-President of Programming and Production at Sony Pictures Television, Michelle Satter, Director of Feature Film Program at the Sundance Institute, Alon Shtruzman, CEO at Keshet International, and Perla Farias, Senior Vice-President of Script Development for Telemundo Studios will share their experiences in the TV industry.
Jacobson manages a team that has been involved in the production and execution of several regional versions of successful shows, such as The Amazing Race for AXN Asia, Next Top Model– also produced in Brazil – Yo Soy Betty, La Fea and Dancing With The Stars. She is also responsible for strategic programming and brand direction for Sony Pictures Television.
Michelle Satter works with new talents in storytelling labs and is one of the responsibles for the Sundance Institute’s New Frontier program, focused on audiovisual professionals that develop narratives for digital media, virtual reality and augmented reality.
Alon Shtruzman is the CEO for the global distribution and production arm of Keshet Media Group, and one of the most prominent names of the entertainment industry in Israel. Keshet holds over 70 internationally licensed formats in catalog, such as the Be Tipul series, whose Brazilian version, Sessão de Terapia, was also acclaimed – produced by Moonshot Pictures and broadcast by GNT.
Perla Farias, senior vice-president of script development for Telemundo Studios, is responsible for hit series such as Juana la Virgen, whose format was transposed into an English language version by US, channel CW as Jane the Virgin and won a Golden Globe award. Currently, Farias analyzes projects and screenplays for telenovelas and oversees a team of writers.
In addition to these new confirmations, the event had already announced five other names in December – John Dahl, vice-president and executive producer at ESPN Films and Original Content; Jarl Emsell Larsen, creator of the series Øyevitne; Carrie Stein, executive vice-president of global production at eOne; Diego Buñuel, head of documentaries for Canal+, and Alex Hirsch, creator of the animation Gravity Falls. RioContentMarket will be held from 8 to10 March 2017, at the Hotel Windsor Barra, Rio de Janeiro.
