Zodiak Kids Studios announced that it has entered a development and production deal with Ingrid Selberg Consulting Limited and Emma Young for the rights of new fiction series about teen vloggers called Girls Can Vlog created by Ingrid Selberg, and co-developed and authored by Selberg and Emma Young under the name ‘Emma Moss’.
Girls Can Vlog has a four-book deal for world print and digital rights with Macmillan Children’s Books. The first book in the series, Lucy Locket: Online Disaster, was published in April and the second Amazing Abby: Drama Queen in September.
There are two further titles scheduled for 2017, each book contains tips and responsible guidance about starting your own vlog. UK sales to date have been excellent and translation rights have been sold in 10 languages with further negotiations underway. Emma Young has worked as a fiction editor for twelve years, at Simon and Schuster, Macmillan Children’s Books and Stripes Publishing. Since going freelance she has worked with a number of high profile authors, including the popular beauty and lifestyle YouTuber, Tanya Burr.
French translation rights become a bidding auction and were secured by Place des Editeurs for their new imprint Slalom. The first title in the series called Ma Vie En Vlog : Qui m’aime me suive! was published in September. Zodiak Kids will own worldwide television distribution rights to Girls Can Vlog.
