Toronto, Canada – Tricon Films & Television has announced sales of scripted programming to Australia, Europe and UK, which include IFC original productions The Spoils of Babylon,Maron, The Birthday Boys and Comedy Bang! Bang!
IFC Original Productions:
The Spoils of Babylon (6 x 30’HD) was sold, and recently aired on Fox UK and ABC2 Australia. Additional sales include C More Scandinavia, Studio Canal France, as well as DVD/EST sales in Australia/New Zealand to Beyond Entertainment and EST rights sold to iTunes Canada and UK. The parody miniseries is based on fictional famous author Eric Jonrosh’s (Will Ferrell) epic best-selling novel The Spoils of Babylon, a century-spanning saga about the sexy and dramatic lives of a family that has made a fortune in the oil business, with an all-star cast including Tobey Maguire, Kristen Wiig and Tim Robbins.

Maron (23 x 30’ HD) has been picked up by Fox UK, ABC2 Australia, iTunes Canada and UK (EST), Beyond Entertainment (DVD/EST), and Inflight Productions for Air New Zealand and Thai Airways. The series fictionalises comedian Marc Maron’s life, relationship and career, which includes his popular WTF podcast, and features conversations with fellow comedians and celebrities such as Denis Leary and Gina Gershon.
The Birthday Boys (20 x 30’ HD) a half-hour sketch comedy show in the vein of smart and funny variety show, executive produced by Bob Odenkirk, Ben Stiller, and the comedy troupe, the Birthday Boys, has been bought by SBS Two Australia, iTunes Canada and Beyond Digital (DVD/EST).
Comedy Bang! Bang! (90 x 30’ HD) has been sold to AV Jet (Transasia Airways). Host Scott Aukerman (co-creator of Between Two Ferns) riffs on the late night talk show format with celebrity appearances, and comedy sketches.

A 3rd broadcast window in Australia for Sanctuary seasons I-IV (59 x 60’ HD) which has been sold to NBCU/Syfy Australia. Also new are Pyramid Entertainment for Saudi Arabia, Russian Report and a renewal by NBCU/Syfy in Benelux. The sci-fi series follows the adventures of the beautiful and enigmatic Dr. Helen Magnus and her team as they track down, study and try to help the strange and terrifying creatures and monsters that secretly populate the world.
Puls TV Poland has purchased Forbidden Science (13 x 60’ HD), a unique blend of noir science fiction and erotic programming that is set in the near future, and InSecurity (23 x 30’ HD) an action comedy series about the men and women of a intelligence and security agency who keep the world safe…ish.
