Business space solutions provider Ascendas and joint-venture partner Citramas Nusaterra announced the official opening of Infinite Studios at Mediapolis@one-north, a digital media city located in southwest Singapore.
The 24,078-square metre development in Mediapolis brings under one roof a mix of local and international companies providing a full suite of digital media services — from production, post-production to transmission — to support large-scale television, film and animation all under one roof. In addition to anchor tenant Infinite Frameworks, key tenants include major media service provider, Globecast Asia; international television business, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific; Japanese game maker Namco Bandai; global media company, Haymarket Media; and international advertising agency M&C Saatchi.
Mike Wiluan, CEO of Infinite Frameworks says, “Infinite Studios is the first media ecosystem of its kind in Singapore which offers a unique platform for media companies to complement each other to serve the global media industry.”
The development’s key features are its two purpose-built soundstages – Singapore’s largest – which were designed in consultation with leading Hollywood-based soundstage operator, Raleigh Studios. Measuring 928 square metres and 1,681 square metres respectively, they are equipped to support productions that require intricate set builds, multi-cam operations and the latest green screen technology for visual effects productions.
To date, the soundstages have played host to the popular Australian kids’ TV show Hi-5, television commercials and reality shows. Two international feature films are slated for production in 2014, as well as another season of Hi-5.
Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Singapore’s Minister for Communications and Information, was the guest-of-honour at the opening ceremony attended by industry partners and business associates. In his opening speech, he expressed his hope that the new facilities will drive further growth of Singapore’s media industry. “With all these exciting developments, Singapore is well on course to achieve its vision of being a regional media powerhouse. Mediapolis will provide a conducive environment to support the growth of media business activities across the spectrum.”
