New York – AMC/ Sundance Channel Global, the international division of AMC Networks, has announced a slew of new worldwide launches for Sundance Channel and WE tv. Bruce Tuchman, President of AMC/ Sundance Channel Global, made the announcements ahead of the company’s participation at CASBAA.
In Korea, Sundance Channel has been launched on leading IPTV provider LG Korea as a 24-hour linear high definition network. The network is already carried in the region on Skylife, and Olleh TV by KT and B.TV by SK Broadband. Sundance Channel is also launching on leading mobile network Taiwan Mobile as a mobile VOD service. This partnership adds to the network’s broad distribution in Taiwan where the network is available on Chunghwa’s MOD service, Dish HD, CNS and Vee Time’s Vee TV. In Thailand, TrueVisions has launched WE tv as a 24-hour high definition linear network. TrueVisions launched Sundance Channel for the first time in the country in 2012.
In addition, Accion has been designated as exclusive sales agent for Sundance Channel and WE tv in the Philippines. The networks have been met with an enthusiastic response and are being launched by numerous local operators including Cablelink TV for Metro Manila, Asian Vision for Olangapo and Zambales region, Telmarc for Taytay and Teresea regions and Royal Cablevision for Cabuyao and Calamba regions. With over 20 years of experience representing 17 channels including Discovery Channels, Disney Channels and History Channel, Accion will continue to accelerate the growth of Sundance Channel and WE tv in the Philippines through its relationships with provincial cable systems throughout the region. Sundance Channel launched for the first time in 2012 on the cable operator Skycable Philippines.
In Latin America, Sundance Channel will be launched on TV Cable Ecuador, the country’s largest cable provider. Through this partnership, Sundance Channel will be made available to subscribers as a 24-hour linear, high definition channel. This news comes off the heels of Sundance Channel’s September 2013 first-ever launch in Latin America on DIRECTV. The network is now available in Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
