MIPTV: Passion Distribution continues strong sales into Asia

Passion Distribution announced that in the first quarter of 2013, it has licensed programming to over 30 territories in Asia, further expanding its growing presence in the region. 

LiTV has licenced a number of Scripps Networks International titles from Passion for its Asian footprint, including Celebrity Motor Homes (4 x 30’) and Million Dollar Contractors Season 1 & 2 (26 x 30’). FOX has also finalised a Pan-Asia deal, acquiring Ace of Cakes Season 9 (12 x 30’ & 1 x 60’ Special) & Season 10 (5 x 30’), and has additionally licensed 5 Ingredient Fix Season 4, 5 & 6 (39 x 30’) for India.

Thai broadcaster TrueCorp has also acquired a large slate of new shows, including Autuna (1 x 60’); Britain’s First Photo Album (10 x 30’); Storm City (4 x 60’); Reef Wranglers (6 x 30’)  – which is part of the Braving The Elements series (26 x 30’). TrueCorp has, as well, licenced the latest seasons of Dynamo (Season 3: 4 x 60’), World’s Scariest (Season 3: 4 x 60’) and Full Throttle Saloon (Season 4: 12 x 60’) – which is produced for TruTV by A.Smith & Co. Productions.

In addition, Malaysia’s R2A Network’s has also acquired Tsunami: The Day The Wave Struck (1 x 60’), The Volcano That Stopped The World (1 x 60’) and Japan Tsunami: How It Happened (1 x 60’) for public broadcaster RTM alongside TVB’s (Hong Kong) acquisition of How The Universe Works season 2 (8 x 60’), LIC’s (China) licence of Where Do Humans Come From? (1 x 60’) and Media Contents Store’s (Korea) licence of World’s Scariest Season 1 & 2 (8 x 60’) and Storm City (4 x 60’).
