Singapore – MediaCorp today announced it will be the official free-to-air broadcaster for the inaugural 2010 Youth Olympic Games (YOG). Its network of television, radio, newspaper, and online platforms will deliver the content for YOG to the homes of Singapore viewers, listeners and readers from 14 to 26 August 2010. Starting 31 May, online portal www.xinmsn.com/yog goes live with news, blogs, telecast schedules, medal tallies, trivia, Team Singapore athlete profiles, photos and videos, providing round-the-clock information and updates. The Opening Ceremony of the Games will be telecast ‘live’ on Channel 5 on 14 August, 8:00pm – 10:00pm. “MediaCorp is in a unique position to bring the inaugural Youth Olympic Games to all Singaporeans anytime, anywhere, through a variety of platforms. As the official free-to-air broadcaster of the YOG, we are honoured to be able to play a part in uniting all Singaporeans for this landmark event, and I look forward to a very successful Youth Olympic Games in Singapore,” said MediaCorp CEO Lucas Chow.
