Netflix expands its presence in Korea with two new production facilities
With Netflix subscribers eager to watch more original Korean series and films, the company announced that it has established two production facilities in Paju-si and Yeoncheon-gun, just outside of Seoul in Gyeonggi Province, Korea. At YCDSMC - Studio 139, Netflix will lease six stages and supporting spaces of approximately 9,000 square meters. Studio Dragon, a subsidiary of CJ ENM in South Korea has partnered with Skydance Television to develop the wildly popular fantasy K-drama Hotel Del Luna to a global audience. Netflix brings “Mr. Sunshine” to the world
SEOUL – Netflix has licensed the new Korean original drama Mr. Sunshine, a 24-episode series from the creators of the global hit series Descendants of the Sun, to premiere on Netflix around the world.
