Singapore – The Media Development Authority (MDA) has fined SingNet Pte Ltd S$90,000 for its Singtel TV disruption on 3 February 2015. The incident, which started at around 10pm, lasted nearly two hours and affected about 11,000 Singtel TV subscribers across Singapore. Those affected were unable to boot up their set-top boxes or access on-demand content. BPL to be cross-carried on standalone basis in Singapore
SingTel's mio TV secured Barclays Premier League rights on a non-exclusive basis in October 2012. Singapore’s Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) has decided not to grant a stay of MDA’s direction after SingNet Pte Ltd applied for a stay of the Media Development Authority of Singapore’s (MDA) to cross-carry the Barclays Premier League (BPL) live matches on April 26, 2013 over three seasons from 2013/2014 to 2015/2016 .
