Singapore’s Starhub Pay TV services register highest growth
Singapore – Starhub Ltd has reported a 28% growth in net profit to S$88 million for the first quarter of 2012. The company’s Pay TV segment grew by 5 percent to S$96 million, accounting for 16 percent of its revenue mix and leading its other business segments in terms of growth. London / Beijing – China Central Television (CCTV) has launched three of its channels in the UK, targeting Chinese speaking audiences there. The Chinese network is using Vision IPTV’s internet broadcasting platform FreeviewHD channel 111, to deliver content. Hong Kong - The Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) expressed new concerns over the recent Indian government levy of additional duties on imported set-top box (STB) or cable TV decoders essential in the country's push for digitalization.
