Reuters has reported that a group of Chinese internet firms, including Tencent Holdings and Sohu.Com Inc, has joined the MPAA in seeking 300 million yuan in damages from China's Baidu Inc and QVOD for copyright violation. China shuts down top video piracy website
ZDnet.com reports that one of China's top movie download website, Siluhd.com, has been shut down, with the CEO and over 30 other employees detained by Chinese law enforcement authorities on suspicion of infringing intellectual property rights. Live TV Gateways are the fastest growing sector of online piracy, a report commissioned by Google and PRS for Music has revealed.
