Singapore has kick-started its plans for an open access Next Generation National Broadband Network (Next Gen NBN) by 2015 with a Request-For-Proposal (RFP) opened to interested parties to design, build and operate the infrastructure layer. The government will provide grants of up to S$750 million (US$520.2 million) for the project and expects to award the winning bid by Q3 2008.
