Online music provider 5fad.com sues Baidu.com
Hangzhou-based online music provider 5fad.com is suing search engine Baidu.com, alleging copyright violation of more than 1,000 songs owned by 5fad.com in what could be the largest intellectual property rights case in China. The music provider is demanding compensation of RMB 100 million (US$13.2 million). Singapore – After failing to strike a deal with ESPN STAR Sports, StarHub has opted to produce its own ‘Football Channel’ to air English Premier League soccer. ABS-CBN profit grew 77% in the first half of 2007
Manila- ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp., the Philippines’ largest broadcaster, posted a 77% year-on-year increase in net income to P739 million $US16.4 million) for the first half of 2007 on the back of improving advertising and subscription-based businesses.
