Singapore – SingTel’s IP-TV service was finally unveiled Friday 20 July 2007 – on the auspicious date 20.07 2007. The Singapore industry’s most-anticipated event of 2007 saw SingTel unveil its IPTV service, mioTV. The service will boast, amongst other content, three BBC Global Channels, BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle and CBeebies. The Singapore launch of these new themed channels is the first time BBC Knowledge and BBC Lifestyle have appeared anywhere in the world, and only the second time CBeebies has been made available to international audiences. Also debuting are four HD channels in conjunction with VOOM. These include Equator HD; teen oriented SLING HD, a co-venture between VOOM HD and Singapore’s Mega Media; VOD service WorldSPORT HD; and VOOM HD – which was also unveiled on Hong Kong’s PCCW on July 18.
