Endemol announced that it has landed new regional market deals for Big Boss, the Indian version of Big Brother. The format will now be produced by Endemol India in three different languages. A new Southern Indian version of the show has been commissioned by Viacom 18 channel ETV Kannada and is due to launch in late March 2013. CA Media acquires stake in Endemol India
CA Media, the Asian investment arm of The Chernin Group (TCG), and Endemol, the world’s largest independent television producer, announced the formation of a strategic alliance in which CA Media has acquired a 49% stake in Endemol India. Money drops again on Asia
Endemol’s multiplatform hit, The Money Drop, has been picked up in three new Asian territories, bringing the total number of episodes sold worldwide to more than 1,000. Endemol India has been commissioned by Star Network’s Star Jalsha channel to produce a first series of 26 episodes. In Malaysia, Astro’s Ria channel has ordered 26 twice weekly episodes, while Taiwan’s Next TV has ordered 52 episodes.
