Komla, who was born in Accra, Ghana in 1972, was one of Ghana's most prominent journalists. Komla joined the BBC in 2006 after spending a decade of journalism in Ghana. BBC Worldwide announces changes to advertising sales
BBC Worldwide has announced it is restructuring its advertising sales arm. Under the restructure, BBC Worldwide's ad funded media assets will be partially decentralised as its wholly owned local channel businesses are migrated into the company's regions, and it moves these businesses into regional P&Ls. The Association for International Broadcasting (AIB) has condemned attempts that are being made to interfere with the broadcasts of international broadcasters on short wave in the Asia region. BBC journalists go on strike
A number of BBC journalists joined the National Union of Journalists’ (NUJ) 24-hour nation-wide strike on Monday due to a dispute over compulsory redundancies. The strike was called after the NUJ failed to reach an agreement with the BBC management over the deployment of 30 employees facing compulsory redundancies.
