Cologne - WDR mediagroup (WDRmg) from Cologne has secured the international programme distribution rights for the new live action children’s series WildWoods by Belfast-based studio Sixteen South. The show, targeted at kids aged 4 to 7, will be filmed in summer 2017. It features puppets in beautiful outdoor locations and aims to encourage children to appreciate nature. CBeebies debuts in China on iQIYI
BBC Worldwide, on the first day of Showcase 207, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with iQIYI, China’s largest online video platform, to bring almost 300 hours of pre-school content from CBeebies to its viewers. This is the first time that CBeebies programmes will be available in China on a digital platform. iQIYI is the leader in providing online services in China with 20 million paid subscribers (as of June 2016). The A Word goes global
Keshet International (KI) announced further sales of its critically acclaimed BBC One drama The A Word. BBC First has acquired the six part drama for Africa and Benelux, as has UKTV New Zealand, Polish public broadcaster TVP, Brazil’s no. 1 multichannel cable and satellite TV service, Globosat and South Korea’s EBS public service channel.
