Frontline buy boosts BT’s IT aspirations
Singapore - BT Group is to buy Singapore IT firm Frontline Technologies for S$202 million (US$139.8 million) to boost its presence in Asia. With existing operations in Japan, South Korea and Australia, BT’s acquisition of Frontline will give it greater exposure to China, India, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. Global ad spend by top 100 hits US$97.8 million
The world’s top 100 marketers spent US$97.8 billion in global media in 2006, a slim 1.1% up on the previous year and a pronounced slowdown after a 5.1% increase in 2005 and a 12.1% jump in 2004. The Top 100 shelled out $46.02 billion, or 47.1% of the global total, in the US, versus 31.8% in Europe and 15.3% in Asia Pacific. Sydney - Seven is the No. 1 network in Australia, registering its biggest win over arch-rival Nine since 1978. However the 2007 survey gave all broadcasters something to boast about—except Nine.
