Singapore – PGK Media will be one of the first applicants for a mobile TV multiplex licence from Singapore’s Media Development Authority (MDA) early 2008, with Broadcast Australia as a possible infrastructure partner. Digital set-top box sales projected to hit 15.6 million in 2011
Scottsdale, Arizona-- Sales of digital terrestrial set-top boxes in Asia Pacific are projected to hit 15.6 million in 2011, up from just 1.2 million in 2007, according to In-Stat. The research firm estimates 484,000 standard definition STBs will be purchased in the region this year, plus 692,000 high-definition units and just 25,000 which combine HD with a PVR.
