Foxtel boss calls for more competition in sports rights bidding
According to the Herald Sun, Foxtel's chief Richard Freudenstein said anti-siphoning regulations, which ensure key sporting events are broadcast on free-to-air TV, have hurt competition in the industry. Foxtel and the Australian Football League have joined forces on The Recruit, a 10-part national reality television series which will feature a global search and provide a player with the opportunity to become an overnight sensation at an AFL club.
