Kourou – Satellites launch company Arianespace has successfully launched two communications satellites: INTELSAT 20 for the international satellite operator Intelsat, and HYLAS 2 for the European operator Avanti. SES claims top position in HD channel distribution
Luxembourg – SES has confirmed its global leadership in HD broadcasting, with more than 1,300 HD channels on its satellite fleet worldwide. The recent SES channel count shows that more than a quarter of the 5,200 TV channels distributed by SES are HD. RTHK launches digital terrestrial television signal test
Digital TV tests in Hong Kong have gone underway. Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) recently conducted formal signal tests for digital terrestrial television (DTT) channels by broadcasting the services from the Temple Hill station.
