SES-3 relocates to Asia

Singapore – SES S.A. announced that the SES-3 satellite is being relocated from its former location over North America to Asia, an area experiencing great demand for the satellite’s capacity. The SES-3 satellite is being relocated to 108.2° East to provide coverage of the Middle East and South Asia regions. Kuala Lumpur – Measat Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. (Measat) has successfully brought Measat-2 back into operational service at 148°E. Measat-2 provides inclined capacity across the South East Asia and Oceanic regions, and the 148°E orbital slot is a key location for wide coverage. The spacecraft, which was launched in 1996, is manufactured by Boeing Satellite Systems.
