OUTtv expands reach in New Zealand joining Prime Video as an add-on subscription and original commission

November 18, 2024 by TVA Editor

OUTtv, the world’s leading LGBTQ+ streaming service, has launched on Prime Video in New Zealand as an add-on subscription, as well as co-commissioning Winner Winner Chicken Dinner with TVNZ, produced by Warner Bros International Television Production New Zealand.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner is an outrageous new game show, hosted by leading New Zealand drag queens, Kita Mean and Anita Wigl’it. Each episode they invite three unsuspecting members of the general public into their living room to go up against each other in a series of outrageous chicken themed games. Kita and Anita are judge, jury and commentator for these games – pushing the contestants to go wild, while changing the rules on a whim, doubling points for extreme behaviour and generally causing as much chaos as possible. The invisible scoreboard means absolutely nothing as these tyrants put everyone through their paces.

At the end of each episode, a Loser Loser Chicken Snoozer is banished to the coop and the other two competitors are invited to share a winner’s chicken dinner together. But nobody goes home empty-handed here – all three guests will take home matching prizes for their efforts, as the real prize was the friends they made along the way.

Philip Webb, COO of OUTtv said, “We have a growing audience in New Zealand and it’s exciting to have both a new place for them to find our incredible, queer content – but also for us to double down on our commitment to the territory with a new commission. Kita and Anita are a dream duo and Winner Winner Chicken Dinner promises camp excellence we know our viewers the world over are going to love.”

Anita Wigl’it added, “I am beyond excited for Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! It’s almost like for millions of years planet Earth has been heading to a chicken themed reality TV show, hosted by Drag Queens with no clear winner – this is a monumental moment not only for television but for humankind as a species!”

Kita Mean, said: “If you’re looking for some cutting edge, non stop drag drama with gripping storylines and jaw dropping twists and turns…boy, are you in the wrong place. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner is the perfect storm of two chaotic best friends throwing chickens at strangers for nothing but fame and…glory? Get ready for a daft laugh and a good old noggin scratch. Bokurrrrr!”

OUTtv is the world’s first LGBTQ+ television network and the leading LGBTQ+ streaming service with over 2000 hours of content. Top titles include Glow Up, Call Me Mother and Cam Boy.

OUTtv has recently announced international commissions including original and illuminating docuseries Get Hooked (7 x 30’) and Stripped Down (6 x 30’), dynamic scripted comedy series Off Shoot (6 x 30’) and Settle Down! (6 x 20’), mockumentary Drag House Rules (6 x 30’) and multi-format variety series Wish You Were Queer (6 x 30’).
