Amsterdam, Kiev, Warsaw – Global content creator, producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group announced they have signed a first series deal for The Brain in Ukraine and a second series in Poland. Ukrainian broadcaster STB has commissioned an eight part primetime series of extraordinary talent format The Brain from Endemol Shine Group.
Following ratings success earlier this year, Endemol Shine Poland will produce a second series for Polsat, to air later this year. The Brain premiered in Poland in March, drawing in 2.55 million viewers and exceeding the channel average. Originally developed by Endemol Shine Germany along with their joint venture company Herr P and broadcaster ZDF, The Brain has now sold to fourteen territories and is a breakout hit across Europe, Russia and China. The US version, Superhuman launched a primetime run this week on FOX.
The Brain performs strongly in Central and Eastern Europe and will be among Endemol Shine Group’s highlights at NAPTE Budapest next week. In Russia Endemol Shine Group’s production company WeiT Media were commissioned by Rossiya 1 for a second series immediately and a panregional adaptation aired in Bosnia, Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia. Last month in Serbia, the series finale won its timeslot with a market share of 25.2%, exceeding the broadcasters’ primetime average by +117%.

The Brain showcases amazing skills and unbelievable feats and sees contestants compete for a cash prize by performing mental and physical challenges that are all but impossible for everyday people. A celebrity panel gives comedic and insightful commentary for the studio audience.
