Guys in Disguise
NRJ12 France has announced the license of a first season of Armoza Format’s humorous dating show, Guys in Disguise. The funny format will be produced by Newen and their affiliate prodco Be Aware, with the season consisting of 40 episodes that will air daily during the access prime time slot. Production has already started and the air date is set for this Spring. This will be the second show that Newen have produced in partnership with Armoza Formats, following their collaboration on With This Ring, which aired on France’s M6.
Guys in Disguise was developed by Armoza Formats together with Artza Productions, who also produced The Gran Plan, which recently won the prime time slot during its launch last week on MTV3 Finland; and How To Be, which recently aired its first season on Germany’s ZDFneo, increasing the channel’s average share by 40%.
Guys in Disguise (30’) is a surprise-filled comical dating show that puts the fun back in dating. One single, hoping to find true love, will look to meet the person of his or her dreams. But in order to really see them, they must first be fully disguised! The single will go on real dates with the guys in disguise to get to know them, before seeing who’s behind the costume and making the tough choice!
Alexandra Crucq, Head of Development of Newen, said, “When we first saw Guys in Disguise we saw it as the next generation of ‘Blind Date’ with a very funny and unexpected touch . We are very happy that France is one of the first countries to air this format internationally.”
Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, said, “Guys in Disguise is a unique twist on the dating genre, that allows singles to actually experience real dates with the contenders, while still keeping the element of their appearances hidden. The hilarious costumes also add a lot of humor – breaking the ice for both the viewers and the singles. We’re happy to be working with NRJ12 and Newen on this format and look forward to this partnership with them, as well as to all the new partnerships created across France!”
