Hong Kong – PCCW announced it will submit an application in the “near future” for a free-to-air (FTA) TV license. “PCCW notes that the government is accepting ad hoc requests for FTA TV licenses,” the telecommunications provider said in a statement. “With its ubiquitous terrestrial and wireless networks, taken together with its quality local content production capabilities, PCCW has decided to apply for a FTA TV license.” PCCW believes the application “will be in the interests of the consumers and the viewing public”.
