Harbour Rights, a leading global television distribution company, part of international media group AMPERSAND has announced a landmark strategic partnership with COL Group International, the largest publication group in China and the undisputed leader in the booming Vertical Drama space.
Under this strategic alliance, Harbour Rights has been appointed as an official distribution partner for Europe and Latin America, bringing COL Group International’s extensive portfolio of more than 1,000 premium vertical drama titles to these key markets. The extensive library features premium productions from COL’s top-ranking global platform FlareFlow, and COL’s slate of top Chinese series from 17K with billions of views, meeting the surging global demand for short-form, mobile-first narrative content. Available in English, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese, soon Indian, Turkish, and Arabic content will also be part of the offering.
Vertical Drama, characterized by its smartphone-native, portrait format and fast-paced storytelling, is revolutionizing content consumption and creating new, lucrative revenue streams. As the pioneer and leading force in this arena, COL has built an unparalleled library of hit-driven content that captivates audiences and defines industry trends.
Microdramas have been booming in the US and China, and the global wave is set to take place in 2026, whether being OTT, TV networks exploring IP partnerships, content licensing and even FlareFlow integration to their ecosystem.
“We are delighted to offer one of the strongest catalogues in the market. Having Harbour Rights onboard is key as we leverage mainstream networks to reach new, mobile-first audiences. Our content is tried, tested, and has scaled globally, and we’re confident this partnership will create the next wave of success stories,” said Timothy Oh, General Manager, COL Group International
The alliance is designed to rapidly connect COL’s premium content with the expanding ecosystem of international buyers. Harbour Rights will leverage its established distribution network and market expertise to accelerate the reach of these titles, serving both new digital-native platforms built for vertical content and existing media companies transitioning into this high-growth opportunity.
“Navigating the international distribution landscape for this new format presents unique challenges, from technical specifications to platform strategy,” added Teremoana Seguin, Managing Director, Harbour Rights. “Our role is to provide a ready-made, end-to-end solution for partners—from initial content evaluation to structuring full output deals. We simplify the process, allowing platforms to seamlessly integrate this must-have content and capitalize on its immediate audience appeal.”
