MwareTV, a prominent cloud-based multi-tenant platform provider, has brought Sree Sivanandan on board as VP India and South-East Asia. He will act as consultant to the company, providing a strong link on the ground with potential clients.
With a career history involving many major media entities, Sree has been running his own venture growth consultancy, NetworkOnomy Ventures. It focuses on helping scale operations through the localization of products to meet specific market needs, structuring strategic partnerships and driving revenue growth. Having worked with over 100 publishers across the region during his Head of Asia role at AOL, Sree successfully expanded the network and impact further by working with over 20 founders who have built tech solutions for the media, video and adtech industries, stitching together multi-million-dollar deals.
“The media industry in India, the sub-continent, and the wider south Asia region is very dynamic, very exciting,” said MwareTV CEO Sander Kerstens. “We need someone on the ground, someone with strong local credentials to really tap into the full potential of this market. Sree is the perfect partner for us, and we look forward to working with him to bring the MwareTV success story to the fore in the region.”
Sree Sivanandan said, “Video consumption and OTT as a sector is poised for continuous growth across the key Asian markets, especially India, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia. Despite the presence of large global businesses, we continue to see new regional players launched to cater to the diverse needs of local users. This trend will continue, backed by innovative monetization models.
“What MwareTV brings is the ability to customize features to meet specific market needs, align the business model incorporating the regional nuances and, most important, offer a solution that can scale cost-effectively. That is what stands out for me, and I look forward to working with Sander and the team to expand our presence in the region. Ultimately, our goal is for our clients to delight their consumers, thanks to MwareTV’s remarkable one-stop solution.”
Sivanandan has worked in Latin America and Asia Pacific. He has a master’s degree in management from the Amrita School of Business and is an alumnus of on-campus corporate executive programs at the Wharton School of Business and the Indian School of Business.
