Leading independent distributor All3Media International will handle global distribution for two upcoming Stan Original dramas Exposure from Thirdborn and Critical Incident from Matchbox Pictures, as first look images for both series are revealed. Exposure

Starring Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures, Top of the Lake, The Serpent) with major investment from Screen Australia, Exposure is a six-episode raw psychological thriller from Thirdborn premiering in 2024 as a Stan Original Series in Australia.

Created and written by Lucy Coleman (Hot Mess) and inspired by her lived experience, Exposure follows photographer Jacs Gould (Alice Englert) who returns to her hometown after the death of her friend to discover the hidden secrets of their relationship and the truth behind the tragedy. Believing the corrosive actions of a man pushed her friend over the edge, Jacs throws herself out as bait, beginning an investigation that becomes an obsessive, impulsive pursuit. Channelling her actions into sex and the darkroom, Jacs’s search for answers becomes a turbulent, unruly quest into the depths of processing present day grief whilst reckoning with the past.

Alice Englert leads as Jacs Gould. The ensemble cast includes Essie Davis (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Lambs of God, Stan Original Films Nitram and True History of the Kelly Gang), Mia Artemis (Sweet Tooth, The Secrets She Keeps, Anyone But You), Thomas Weatherall (Heartbreak High, RFDS ), Sean Keenan (Stan Original Series Bali 2002, The Power of the Dog) Ewen Leslie (Stan Original Series Prosper, The Stranger), George Mason (The Power of the Dog, Dirt Music), Christian Byers (Stan Original Series Bump and Year Of), David Howell (Last Days of the Space Age, One Night), Thom Green (Dance Academy, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn), Domino McCathrion (The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart), Victoria Haralabidou (Stan Original Series The Tourist, The Secrets She Keeps), and Daniel Frederiksen (Upright, The Dry).

The Stan Original Series Exposure is written and created by Lucy Coleman (Hot Mess) and directed by Bonnie Moir (Love Me season 2). The series is produced by Nicole O’Donohue (Love Me, Frayed), with Justin Kurzel (Stan Original Films Nitram and True History of the Kelly Gang), and Shaun Grant (Stan Original Films Nitram and True History of the Kelly Gang). Exposure is produced for Thirdborn by Stan. Major production investment from Screen Australia and Stan. Financed with support from Screen NSW. International sales by All3Media International. Post, digital and visual effects supported by Screen NSW. Stan Executive Producers are Cailah Scobie and Donna Chang

Critical Incident

Filmed in Blacktown, Granville, Parramatta and Greenacre, the Stan Original Series Critical Incident is a gritty and raw series depicting life in the Western suburbs of Sydney. This contemporary crime drama delves into the complex world of policing and the consequences on those most vulnerable.

While on patrol for a teenage suspect, Senior Constable Zilifcar ‘Zil’ Ahmed (Khanna) pursues Dalia (Boe), and in the chaos and confusion of the pursuit, a bystander is critically injured. Zil’s world comes crashing down when he discovers Dalia was in fact not the perpetrator.

The immense guilt over the bystander’s horrific injuries, coupled with the pressure of the critical incident investigation and the public scrutiny, creates an unbearable burden for Zil. Encouraged by his brothers in blue, Zil becomes obsessed with pinning something on Dalia.

Critical Incident is directed by Neil Sharma (Heartbreak High) and Daniel Nettheim (Stan Original Series The Tourist, Line of Duty), created and written by Sarah Bassiuoni alongside writers Ruth Underwood, Hannah Fitzpatrick and Natasha Henry, and produced by Bree-Anne Sykes with Executive Producers Sheila Jayadev and Debbie Lee from Matchbox Pictures, and Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie for Stan. The series is produced by Matchbox Pictures, which is part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group. Major production investment from Screen Australia and Stan. Financed with support from Screen NSW. International sales by All3Media International. Post, digital and visual effects supported by Screen NSW. Developed with assistance of Screen Australia.

Black Snow Season 2

With production commencing in Queensland, the second season of the Stan Original Series Black Snow, produced by Goalpost Pictures, will see Travis Fimmel reprise his role as Detective Cormack.  Director Sian Davies, Executive Producer Rosemary Blight and Series Creator Lucas Taylor also return to the series and Helena Brooks joins as Director. Black Snow season 2 is produced in association with All3Media International and Sundance Now and with financial support from Screen Queensland, Screen NSW and The City of Gold Coast.

Detective Cormack (Travis Fimmel) tackles two separate missing persons cases. One is professional, as he investigates the disappearance of Zoe Jacobs – who disappeared from her own 21st birthday party in 2003 – and the other is personal, as Cormack searches desperately for his own younger brother, who went missing when they were children.
