In a bid to attract new viewers and while keeping existing consumers entertained and engaged, The Q continues to lead the way with content and programming innovation. In an industry-first move in the Hindi FTA space, The Q now announces its maiden short film festival – ‘Ek Dastaan Aisi Bhi’ on national television. Spread across 7 days, Ek Dastaan Aisi Bhi will showcase 9 critically acclaimed Hindi short films across genres, themes and subjects starting from February 21, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. exclusively on The Q.  Presenting television audiences with content that is never seen on television, Ek Dastaan Aisi Bhi will showcase one short film with a unique narrative on weekdays followed by a Weekend Bonanza of 2 back to back films on the last 2 days of the film festival.

Each of the 9 films presents a unique narrative led with characters across different walks of life depicting different emotions and tales coupled with inspiration and aspiration. Short films like Aapka Amitabh, Rishtey, Kesar, Le’vish, The Guide, You Changed Me, Kashi, Lunch Stories and The Last Order reinforce The Q’s proposition of bringing unique content for viewers from digital to television. Moreover, films like Aapka Amitabh and You Changed Me have also received global acclamation having won at leading film festivals. Aapka Amitabh tells a story of a man claiming to be pen-pals with Amitabh Bachchan with no physical evidence left with him to prove this ‘fact’ to his friends. You Changed Me on the other hand is a story of a mid-aged, well-educated man, who lost himself in the daily chores of life and is a reflection of how someone’s vibes can influence somebody’s life.

Speaking on the channel’s overall strategy Simran Hoon, CEO, QYOU Media said, “The Q’s journey over the last year has been nothing short of excitement and innovation. Having received so much love and appreciation from our viewers across India, we firmly believe the onus rests upon us to ensure our viewers are provided with content that is relatable in its true sense while fostering a culture of appointment viewing on the channel. Ek Dastaan Aisi Bhi echoes our proposition to offer our viewers ‘Hatke Digital Creations’ which are Original-To-TV-content and is one of the many firsts for The Q as well as the Hindi GEC category. We look forward to rewarding our viewers through constant innovation while cementing our leadership in the FTA universe.”

Krishna Menon, COO, QYOU Media further added, “We kickstarted 2022 with a distinct yet poignant strategy with the launch of Hasi Ka HAHAkaar, a first of its kind show on TV. Ek Dastaan Aisi Bhi is an extension of this strategy that targets viewers from rural and urban markets. The 9 short films that we have acquired as a part of this programming line-up are simple and yet meaningful and are sure to create intrigue. All these films are socially and personally relevant thus helping us develop a deeper relationship with our viewers. We will continue to invest efforts and energies in a bid to attract more viewers across all platforms while expanding our presence and reach.”

The Q’s short film festival Ek Dastaan Aisi Bhi premieres on Monday, February 21, 2022, at 8:30 p.m. and will end on Sunday, February 28, 2022, with a Weekend Bonanza spread over 26th and 27th February.
