Formula E and MNC Group announced a new broadcast partnership in Indonesia to air ABB FIA Formula E World Championship races live on free-to-air channel iNews and the first-ever Jakarta E-Prix on RCTI, the nation’s leading FTA TV.

Beginning this season, the new agreement will also see ABB FIA Formula E Championship races feature across MNC Group’s media portfolio of free-to-air, linear pay-TV channels and IPTV services including MNC Vision, MNC Play, and Vision+ TV plus internet-delivered services RCTI+ (AVOD Superapp) and Vision+ (SVOD Superapp).

Highlights will appear on RCTI and qualifying will appear on MNC Group’s online distribution platforms RCTI+ and Vision+.

Season 8 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship continues this weekend with Round 3 in Mexico City this Sunday from 4:30 a.m. Jakarta time.

The season began with the double-header of races around the walls of the UNESCO World Heritage site in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, on 28 and 29 January. Following Round 3 in Mexico City, the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will continue with the biggest-ever 16 race calendar in the centre of iconic world cities including Rome, Monaco, London, and New York, and for the first time, Jakarta, Vancouver, and Seoul.

Noersing, Chief Executive Officer, PT MNC Tbk, said, “We are delighted to engage in cooperation with Formula E. With MNC’s vast range of media arsenal, together with our robust digital assets, we aim to make this a prolific partnership to deliver a prominent racing event to the inhabitants of Indonesia. Furthermore, by having an Indonesian race on the calendar, it will definitely create a whole new experience for our people and it shall also trigger tremendous interest to watch various Formula E events in the future.”

Aarti Dabas, Chief Media Officer, Formula E, said, “Our partnership with MNC Group will take the ABB FIA Formula E Championship’s TV audience reach to a new level in Indonesia. With races airing live on iNews and RCTI, some of the highest-rated free-to-air channels in the market, and also on MNC OTT platforms RCTI+ and Vision+, we are confident this extensive coverage and exposure in Indonesia will grow the huge, passionate fanbase even further.”

By the conclusion Season 7 (2020/21), the live television audience made up the majority of Formula E’s global TV viewership (62%) for the first time in the Championship’s history. The cumulative audience increased to 316 million, a 32% y-o-y growth.
