LOS ANGELES, MUNICH, AMSTERDAM – CBS Studios International has announced licensing agreements with ProSiebenSat.1 Group and Turner Broadcasting System in Germany for INSTINCT. This new, mid-season drama will have its local premiere on May on pay TV channel TNT Serie, followed by its free-to-air premiere on SAT.1 Television.
In the U.S., INSTINCT premiered on CBS on March, with the first three episodes ranking as the most-watched entertainment series on Sunday night. Currently, INSTINCT is averaging 10.7 million viewers, and after three episodes is already in the top 25 most-watched shows on American broadcast television.
Based on the James Patterson and Howard Roughan book Murder Games, INSTINCT stars Alan Cumming as Dr. Dylan Reinhart, a former CIA operative who is lured back to his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer. Dr. Reinhart is a gifted author and university professor living a quiet life teaching abnormal behaviour to packed classes of adoring students. But when top NYPD homicide detective Lizzie Needham (Bojana Novakovic) appeals to him to help her catch a serial murderer who is using Dylan’s first book as a tutorial, Dylan is compelled by the case, comes out of retirement and taps into his old skill set.
INSTINCT is produced by CBS Television Studios and distributed internationally by CBS Studios International. Michael Rauch, Marc Webb, Alex Kurtzman, Heather Kadin, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, Leopoldo Gout and Alan Cumming serve as executive producers. Webb directed the pilot.
