MÜNCHEN, AMSTERDAM – The German TV military drama SEAL Team, will premiere on TNT Serie from March 15 with double episodes at 9.40pm every Thursday. The drama was created by Benjamin Cavell (Homeland), and will be following the professional and personal lives of those in the US-Navy SEALs, who take on dangerous and high-stakes missions for the country.
An American hostage taken by terrorists, a reconnaissance mission in Syria, or the apprehension of a dangerous war criminal – if a mission requires swift action under difficult circumstances, the US-Navy deploys their elite unit, the Navy SEALs. As leader of a Tier One Team, Jason Hayes (David Boreanaz; Bones) heads up the best of the best: his trusted confidant, Ray Perry (Neil Brown Jr.; Straight Outta Compton), the longest-tenured operator with whom Jason shares an ingrained shorthand, and loyal Sonny Quinn (A.J. Buckley; Murder in the First), an exceptional soldier who still combats self-destructive tendencies. While multi-lingual Clay Spenser (Max Thieriot; Bates Motel) gives everything to join Hayes’ Team permanently, CIA analyst Mandy Ellis (Jessica Paré; Mad Men) and logistics officer Lisa Davis (Toni Trucks; Ruby Sparks) already are vital to the team’s success. They are used to being deployed on clandestine missions worldwide at a moment’s notice, but what they experience overseas takes a toll on them and their families.
SEAL Team is produced by CBS Television Studios and distributed globally by CBS Studios International. Ed Redlich (Unforgettable), Christopher Chulack (Shameless), Sarah Timberman (Elementary), Carl Beverly (Elementary) and series creator Benjamin Cavell serve as executive producers. The military drama premiered successfully in September in the US on CBS with the first two episodes placing first in viewers on their respective evenings.
