Asian Television Awards (ATA), Asia’s most widely participated and star-studded television industry event, announced the appointment to its Advisory Board of Yang Weidong, Senior Vice President and President of Tudou.com at Youku Tudou Inc.
Prior to Youku Tudou, Yang served as the Chief Executive Officer of Max Times, a youth entertainment content and marketing company. Previously, he held various positions at Nokia Greater China; from advertising to marketing activation.
Over the years, ATA has evolved to keep in step with the changing needs of our industry. In that same spirit, the ATA Advisory Board was formed in 2010, comprising senior management from the major broadcasters in the region. This network of industry experts provides advice and guidance on how ATA can achieve its vision.
“We are not only extremely pleased, but honoured to have Mr. Yang join ATA Advisory Board,” said Raymond Wong, Chairman of ATA. “He brings to the helm of ATA a wealth of industry experience, and will be a valuable addition to the Board.”
“Interest in the Awards is on the surge, accelerated by the foremost recognition from the industry and by the tremendous support from across the region. To now have onboard a representative from Youku Tudou, which has more than 500 million active users, makes ATA’s mission to expand its broadcast footprint into the online world very promising,” added Wong.
