Singapore – RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network announced on July 23 that it will bring The X Factor UK talent competition to Asia. The X Factor UK is the originator of the international The X Factor franchise and is one of the biggest television talent competitions in the world. The show is produced by FremantleMedia’s Thames and Simon Cowell’s production company SycoTV. First and exclusive on the RTL CBS Entertainment HD channel The X Factor UK will air as live via satellite from the UK every Sunday and Monday from August 31 at 10.30am with a primetime encore at 9pm.
“This is the first time that The X Factor UK is being made available to audiences outside the UK. In Asia, we have historically seen mostly talent competitions from the U.S. and local versions of popular formats,” said Jennifer Batty, EVP Programming, RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network. “We are committed to delivering new and unique entertainment programmes to our audiences and we are confident that viewers in the region will enjoy The X Factor UK.”
The X Factor UK judges
The X Factor UK has discovered stars such as Leona Lewis, Olly Murs, Little Mix and the most popular boy band today, One Direction, who after the release of their third album Midnight Memories, became the first band in U.S. Billboard 200 history to have their first three albums debut at number one. The eleventh series ofThe X Factor UK will see the return of judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh. Mel B aka Scary Spice will be the fourth judge on the panel. The winner of the competition will receive a recording contract valued at £1 million.
