Tel Aviv – Armoza Formats’ scripted drama The Ran Quadruplets has received a pilot order by American broadcaster CBS. The US pilot will be written and executive produced by David Marshall Grant (Smash) and produced by CBS Studios. The Israeli version aired on Israel’s Yes for two seasons.
Armoza’s Founder and CEO, Avi Armoza, will be one of the Executive Producers, along with Yona Wiesenthal, Eilon Ratzkovsky, Yahalom, Jakobi, Intrigue Entertainment’s Tariq Jalil and David Garrett.
This is the 2nd time CBS has worked on the format, the first time in 2009-10 where the show also got to pilot stage with Revenge’s creator Mike Kelly and his brother Chris.
The Ran Quadruplets
The Ran Quadruplets (40’), a scripted drama created by Giyora Yahalom and Oren Jakobi, and developed by July-August Productions, tells the moving story of the first quadruplets born in their country. Their birth was heralded in the media, and their lives became a national sensation with one broadcaster’s documentary project filming them every eight years, similar to the famous “7 Up” project. Now they are 32 years old and the fifth filming captures and broadcasts their angst over identities, career, relationships and family. The lens exposes the lives of four people who may share the same DNA, but do not share the same lives.
Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, said, “I am thrilled that this project is taking off – it just goes to show that when you have a good format you need to keep pushing it no matter what. We’re looking forward to working with top broadcaster CBS on this in bringing this very original and unique drama to life, where documentary and fiction are combined.”
