The Bangkok Post reported that this move is aimed at solving the problem of slow installation of its cable-TV and Ku-band satellite-TV services for new subscribers wishing to watch the EPL games. The new set-top box is priced at 2,140 baht plus a monthly promotional fee of 555 baht, added the report.
The report said that subscribers can watch 380 EPL matches on five SD channels as well as two HD channels – Fox Sports Plus and Nat Geo Wild – and 28 other SD channels including Thai Sports, Kix, Cinema and Asian Hits.
The report added that chief executive Krissanan Ngampatipong said 4.2 million Thai households watch TV using a C-band satellite, and that the advantage of a C-band satellite system is a clearer picture and a strong TV signal even when it rains.
