Zinc Distribution has renewed its partnership with TV2 Norway for Police Interceptors, with the broadcaster recommitting to the hit British police documentary series and acquiring further seasons.
The deal covers a total of 175 x 60’ episodes, including the renewal of Police Interceptors Series 16 – 22, comprising 105 episodes, alongside the acquisition of Series 23 – 26, covering a further 70 episodes.
Produced for Channel 5 in the UK, Police Interceptors follows specialist police units as they tackle high-speed pursuits, dangerous incidents and real-life frontline policing across Britain. The long-running series continues to perform strongly with UK audiences and has built an international following through its mix of access, action and human stories.
Alex Colebeck, Head of International Sales, Zinc Distribution, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with TV2 for Police Interceptors. It goes without saying that the loyal audiences we have domestically on Channel 5 translate internationally, and we’re excited to bring more frontline action from the very best of British blue-light programming to Norwegian audiences.”
Nina Lorgen Flemmen, International Content Director, TV2, said: “Police Interceptors is performing well for us on the linear channel and underlines the popularity of police shows among Norwegian viewers. The docu-soap format remains highly effective on linear television because it relies on the compelling nature of real people in real situations. We are happy to continue our relationship with Zinc Distribution for further seasons.”
The renewal underlines the continued international demand for established factual entertainment and blue-light programming, with Police Interceptors remaining one of Zinc Distribution’s key returning titles for global buyers.
