SPT acquires first-run rights to “The Blacklist” and “The Hero”

Singapore – Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks, Asia has announced that it has acquired the exclusive, first-run rights for the suspense thriller The Blacklist, starring multiple Emmy-winning actor James Spader, and the adventure reality competition featuring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, The Hero. Both series will premiere in the final quarter of 2013.
“The Blacklist is a show that travels. It covers a world of crime that isn’t confined to the U.S.,” writer of the series Jon Bokenkamp told TV ASIA Plus.

“Viewers across Asia have come to love and expect cutting-edge entertainment from our channels,” said Hui Keng Ang, Senior Vice President, Business Operations, Networks, Asia, Sony Pictures Television. “The Blacklist, the most compelling and sought-after U.S. drama series this fall, and The Hero, an intense unscripted competition show, are top quality and key additions that we are sure audiences will love.”

 
SPT Networks Asia’s AXN delivers some of the most popular and thrilling dramas and reality programming in the world including CSI, NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, Falling Skies, The Voice and The Amazing Race. AXN also features SPT Networks’ original commissionHannibal, and made-in-Asia-for-Asia original productions like the international Emmy-nominated The Amazing Race Asia and The Apprentice Asia.
