SLL has secured a remake deal with Thailand’s leading entertainment company GMMTV for its iconic Korean drama series Itaewon Class, further strengthening its presence in the Thai market. The Thai adaptation was officially announced on November 3 during GMMTV’s annual event, where the company unveiled its upcoming lineup of productions, including the highly anticipated remake of the hit Korean series.
Based on the webtoon of the same name published by Kakao Entertainment Corp., Itaewon Class follows a young man who, after experiencing injustice and personal loss, sets out to build his own business and challenge an established restaurant empire.
The Thai adaptation will reimagine the story within a local cultural context while retaining the original’s core themes of resilience, ambition, and challenging the status quo.
The series will star Sky Wongravee as the young protagonist, alongside Nycha Nuttanicha, Film Rachanun, and acclaimed actress Nok Sinjai, who will portray a powerful female chairwoman leading a restaurant empire. Reimagining the original antagonist as a female chairwoman adds a new dimension to the conflict between two generations with contrasting beliefs and visions of success.
Following the Thai remake of another SLL series, SKY Castle, which premiered on Thailand’s ONE31 channel on August 3, 2026, the new deal further strengthens SLL’s presence in Thailand and underscores the continued appeal of its IP across Asia. Building on these partnerships, SLL will continue to explore opportunities for content remakes and international co-productions through collaborations with local production companies and broadcasters across the region.
