Singapore – Keshet International (KI), the global distribution arm of Israel’s Keshet Media Group, has announced that it will be presenting a MIPTV Media Mastermind Keynote on April 8. Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff, executive producers of award-winning Homeland – based on Keshet Broadcasting’s Israeli series Prisoners of War, and Keshet’s VP of Programming, Ran Tellem, are slated to share the background on how they adapted an Israeli story for American TV.
KI will also be organising a MIPDOC Factual Case Study: Girlfri3nds on April 7 with Studio Lambert’s CEO, Stephen Lambert, alongside Tellem. Through its participation at MIPTV 2013, the company hopes to reach out to worldwide TV channels and producers and create further opportunities for their formats to be adapted for an international audience.
“Keshet International has been very successful in Europe and the US and it is only natural for us to enter the fast-growing Asian Market. The equation for a successful show is having a great format, strong broadcaster and talented local creator/producer. Our aim is to implement this formula in as many markets as possible. We see a show like Prisoners of War working in Hebrew, English, Russian and more – so why not find local partners for a Mandarin, Korean or Japanese to cater to Asian audiences? For Asia, we know that a popular lead actor will have an even stronger pull, and we are currently in the midst of discussion to develop an Asian adaptation of Prisoners of War, possibly one that will cast a popular Korean actor in the leading role,” said Alon Shtruzman, Managing Director of Keshet International.
