Chris Dobson, Executive Vice President & General Manager of BBC Advertising, has announced that he will be leaving BBC Worldwide later this year. Dobson’s departure from the company come as BBC Worldwide reorganises – its ad funded media assets will be partially decentralised into the newly formed regions which leaves Global Ad Sales with a reduced UK-based leadership role.
Chris Dobson said; “The BBC Advertising team has achieved much in the last five years of which we can all be justifiably proud, so it was not an easy decision to move on from the business. However, given the evolution of the structure and the role, it’s the right decision and timing to leave at this point and I would like to thank all my colleagues and teams who have helped create a very special team culture across the world of BBC Advertising.”
Dobson, who has led the advertising monetisation strategy and execution for the BBC’s commercial media assets across all delivery platforms the U.S., EMEA and Asia, will continue his current role until the summer of this year.
