Armoza has sold its game show format We Believe in You in a double licensing deal as it moves towards its world premiere.
In Hungary, the show was commissioned by public broadcaster MTVA in a deal that will span 45 episodes on their key terrestrial channel occupying a daily slot. It is set to broadcast in spring 2013. This deal comes on the heels of another commission from Turkey whose leading media company, Kanal D, will broadcast the show, with production by Endemol. It is scheduled to air late February 2013. Format rights have also recently been acquired in Spain and France.
We Believe in You sees a group of friends nominate a representative to answer trivia questions in order to realise a shared dream with a twist. The group has to have the power of belief. They need to have faith in their leader to answer correctly in order to up the stakes.
We Believe in You will take the place of Still Standing, while it is on a season hiatus on M1. After previous seasons scored highly, doubling the channels share in the slot, the Hungarian broadcaster has just licensed a fourth season to be aired later in the year. Still Standing, a game show format where contestants literally fall through the studio floor, has also recently received the “Best Game Show” award at the Israel TV Academy Awards.
Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, said: “The pressure is always on to raise the bar for game shows. Standard trivia will not suffice anymore. Bringing a tight knit group into the studio, using their friendship to reach goals makes the experience fun for both the contestants and the audience. With this format we have banished the high pressure environment and have replaced it with a feel-good atmosphere to push the groups towards making their dreams come true. We are proud to bring something fresh to the table which focuses on friendship and trust.”
