Singapore – Universal Networks International (UNI) continues its upward trend as its channels show positive growth in ratings and viewership in the first half of 2012.
According to UNI, Universal Channel is one of the fastest growing pay-TV channels in Southeast Asia. Universal Channel in Singapore grew by 125% in the first half of 2012 compared to 2011 during the primetime slot among viewers aged 18-49. The viewership among Adults 16+ also increased by 44% in total and 103% in primetime for the first half of 2012 against 2011.
DIVA Universal, home to SMASH, Downton Abbey and original production Hot Guys Who Cook, also saw average primetime ratings rise by 47% and 57% among all viewers in first half of 2012 in Singapore and Malaysia versus last year.
In Australia, OzTAM data showed that 13th Street Universal is one of the top subscription TV channels with the highest average time viewers are spending on the channel. E! Entertainment in Australia also recorded a primetime gain of 7% among Adults aged 18-49 during the first half of 2012 from 2011.
