Kuala Lumpur – MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. (MEASAT) announced that an agreement was signed with GlobeCast for the distribution of Fashion One HD channel via the MEASAT-3 satellite. MEASAT, together with GlobeCast, will bring the Fashion One to the Asia Pacific region, broadcasting through MEASAT’s hotbird MEASAT-3 satellite. The addition of Fashion One increases to 14 the number of high definition channels on MEASAT’s HD video neighbourhood. Fashion One HD features a selection of programming focused on fashion, film, lifestyle, music and entertainment. Fashion One broadcasts 24/7 internationally across multiple platforms, including direct-to-home satellite television, cable television and the web. The channel presents not only the most sought-after names in the industry, but also emerging designers, models, hair & make-up artists, photographers and stylists. In addition, MEASAT announced an agreement with AORA to support its the Direct-To-Home (DTH) service. Under the multi-transponder agreement, which involves PT Patra Telekomunikasi Indonesia as the local partner, MEASAT will provide MEASAT-3a Ku-band capacity for the AORA TV DTH service in Indonesia. AORA commenced its nationwide broadcast activity on August 2008 with a 10 channel introductory service exclusively featuring the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Currently, AORA offers a variety of 25 channels across news, documentary, entertainment, movies, sports and kids programs. It plans to increase this channel offering to 50 channels in the near future. The agreement with AORA increases to five the number of DTH platforms supported on the MEASAT-3 / MEASAT-3a 91.5°E DTH neighbourhood.
