Beijing – Disney-ABC International Television (DAIT) Asia Pacific has signed an agreement with Shanghai Media Group (SMG) for it to produce a local version of The Amazing Race series in China. Titled, China Rush (in Chinese), the 12-episode series will be shot at locations across China. As a part of the agreement, DAIT will provide format expertise as well as consultation to the production team at SMG to ensure that the show captures the excitement of the original The Amazing Race series as well as its other local format versions across the world. The series will premiere in August 2010 and will air weekly to audiences in China. The season finale will air in October 2010, to coincide with the end of the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. The show will be telecast in English, with Chinese subtitles, on SMG’s International Channel Shanghai (ICS) network. Auditions are now open for China Rush around the world, http://www.chinarush.tv.
